Frank Anderson, Chairman
With a passion to help to community and experience in fundraising, Frank offers his expertise and is a member of the Boards of Bridgepoint Health Foundation, University of Toronto Press and the Canadian Council of Christians and Jews (www.cccj.ca), and the Founding Chairman of Cornerstone 52 Foundation (www.cornerstone52.org), a charitable organization dedicated to funding children’s charities which has risen over $5,000,000 since its inception in 1989. Frank is also the immediate past Chair of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario (www.heartandstroke.ca).
Frank was also a board member previously of a number of community organizations, including Holy Trinity School, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation-Toronto Chapter, the Markham Theatre for the Performing Arts, Region of York Youth Soccer Association, Thornhill Golf and Country Club and Thornhill Minor Soccer Club.
Frank Anderson is currently the Vice-Chairman, Financial Administration and Operations and a member of the Board of DundeeWealth Inc, one of Canada’s leading financial services companies. With over 40 years of retail industry experience and a retired Senior Partner and National Industry Leader of Arthur Andersen, Frank led the Firm's Retail Industry group in Canada and the Consumer Products Industry team in Toronto and having worldwide responsibility for education in the retail industry for the Firm’s managers. Frank's clients included firms such as The Oshawa Group, Roots, Aldo, Holt Renfrew, Grand & Toy, LCBO, National Tilden, The Body Shop, Tip Top Tailors and many others. He graduated from Glasgow University in 1963 with a degree in Economics, became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland in 1967 and was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario in 1997.
Frank has written numerous articles for publications such as Discount Merchandiser and has given speeches on the retail industry to groups of executives from a number of large Canadian companies and associations. He also prepared an overview of retailing in Canada for a major financial institution and has addressed attendees at an International Council of Shopping Centers Research Conference on the topic of benchmarking, as well as speaking at various other conferences. He was also the Executive Producer of a TV series entitled “Canada’s Best Businesses”, the second series of which was recently aired on CTV. From July 2002 until January 2003 was the Executive Vice President of Hy & Zel’s, a 17-store drug store chain located in Southern Ontario.
He also serves as a member of the Boards of Trustees of Innvest REIT and O&Y REIT, both publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trusts, chairing each Trust’s Audit Committee, is a member of the Boards of Directors of Counsel Corporation, fulfilling the same role on those companies’ Boards and is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
